2026 nominations are closed. The 2027 nomination window opens in February 2027. The process for nominating is outlined below.
Paper nominations (no digital submissions) will be screened by the Milley Awards Executive Committee to be sure they meet the criteria and are complete. All nominations will remain current for three years. Nominators may update and re-nominate their nominations annually.

NOMINATIONS
- Your personal statement of support plus at least two letters of support from others.
- Maximum of ten single-sided pages of supporting materials, such as biography, websites, testimonials, reviews, articles, press clippings or photographs. Ask your candidate for assistance with these materials.
- Please include digital files, CDs, albums, books and other 3-dimensional examples of a candidate’s work with your nominations.
- Past nomination packets are available in the History Room of the Mill Valley Library to give you an idea of what needs to be included. Call 415-389-4292.
- All materials must be delivered to Mill Valley City Hall by noon on the due date.

RECIPIENTS
Recipients will be selected from the listed awards categories. Formal presentation of up to five Milley Awards will be made at a gala event on:
October 18, 2026 at 5:00pm
All award winners will be acknowledged by the Arts Commission and the Mayor of Mill Valley. An appropriate permanent record will be kept by the Arts Commission of all honorees. A complete list of past Milley recipients can be found at milleyawards.org

PURPOSE
The Citizens of Mill Valley take this opportunity to honor those among us who, through their accomplishments in the Arts, have brought honor to our community. They have done this through their talents and actions in the state, national or international arenas. We wish to recognize their achievement in the Arts professions and their contributions to the creative life of the Mill Valley community.

- Performing & Film Arts
- Contributions to the Creative Life of the Mill Valley Community
CRITERIA
We honor those living artists and artist-teachers who were born in Mill Valley, or went to school here, or work here, or have made their home here, and who have enriched our lives. Selection of Mill Valley Creative Achievement Award winners (“Milleys”) is based upon one or more of these criteria:
- Outstanding achievement in creating, performing or teaching in the Arts
- Demonstration of a significant body of work
- Service to the Arts community
